The Benalmádena Sea Centre (“Classroom of the Sea”) is an interpretation centre that also focuses on nature conservation, while actually being located at the beach itself. Special leisure activities are offered for children, including guided tours through the centre and outdoor trips. Benalmádena Sea Centre also has an oceanographic laboratory, which allows direct contact with the marine species in the aquariums.
Principia is an interactive science centre which sets out to explain science and technology to the public in an entertaining way without losing any of the rigour of its contents. The science centre PRINCIPIA is organised around various areas:
Rhythm on horseback is a very successful horse show that has been run since 1993. Since our visitors requested it, we started offering feria del sur (southern fair) in 2000. It consists in dinner with a flamenco show that, along with ritmo a caballo make the perfect andalusian mix. Without doubt, the fifteen-year experience and the quality of the shows ensure customer satisfaction. The horse show features five different performances. Its runtime is one and a half hours, with a 10-minute interval.
The Costa del Sol Riding School is located in Estepona, near the Padrón River and one kilometre away from the beach. The riding school -surface area: 90,000 sq m-was created in 1998, with the aim of fostering the love of horse riding as a sport while organising equestrian competitions and shows. The Benalmádena Cable Railway offers a spectacular fifteen-minute ride in comfortable, modern cabins, each one with capacity for four people. The cable railway covers a route that connects Benalmádena Costa with the peak of Monte Calamorro, one of the highest points of the Costa del Sol, at almost 800 metres above sea level, where visitors can enjoy the exclusive landscape together with a complete selection of activities for people of all ages.
